Thinking of Getting A New Paint Job? Choose Your Color Carefully!

However, there’s more to getting a paint job than just picking a color and paint type.  In some cases, the color you choose can have impact that goes beyond simple aesthetics. Here are some tips for picking a good color for your vehicle.

Important Tips When Getting A Paint Job in Spruce Grove

  • Black is more dangerous

Black is one of the most popular colors people can choose for a car, and that’s kind of unfortunate because black is also -literally- the most dangerous car color.  Statistics show that all-black vehicles are a whopping 47% more likely to be involved in an accident.

And that’s not just at night, either.  Even during peak daylight hours, a black car is 12% more likely to be in an accident, compared to a white vehicle.  No matter the time of day, black cars are harder for other motorists to see.

  • Showing or hiding damage

Want even more reason to go for a lighter-colored vehicle?  It’s easier to see damage such as dents or scratches on a dark-colored car.  Since the underlying metal is always going to be shiny, anything that breaks the paint’s surface really stands out.

Of course, on the other hand, white shows dirt better.

If you want a color that minimizes how much damage or dirt shows up, you’re best off with something neutral or earth tone.  Light greys, browns, dark reds, and silvers are best if you aren’t rigorous about car washing.

  • Good news:  Red is NOT a cop magnet

One thing you don’t have to worry about is that your choice of color will attract police.  The idea that bright red cars are more likely to get tickets is simply false.  The same is true for other bright colors; police really don’t care.
